Get Funky In Jesse Fischer & Solomon Dorsey's 'Winter Wonderland'

The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year, and not only because it gives me a chance to spend time with my family. The main reason that I love it is because it gives me a chance to dust off my favorite Christmas songs and sing along at the top of my lungs. Though my collection generally consists of classics, I always look forward to the new sounds coming from today's artists. Jesse Fischer seems to be trying to earn himself a spot on my list of new additions for the second year in a row. After wowing me with his grooved out version of "Let It Snow" last year, he puts his special spin on "Winter Wonderland" this Christmas season. Joined by vocalist-bassist Solomon Dorsey, Fischer's take on the 1934 classic is fun and funky in all the right places. In the video we see Fischer wearing many hats as he performs all of the instrumentation, including jingle bells, from his Brooklyn home studio. Meanwhile, Dorsey's throaty vocals only dials up the funk some more as he rounds out the song with a few well-placed grunts that had me grooving and reaching for the rewind button at the same time. If you're looking for an updated take on this holiday staple to add to your Christmas playlist, then be sure to head on over to Fischer's Bandcamp page and take advantage of the free download.
