While her fifth studio album Braveheart has suffered more pushbacks than I thought possible, she's looking to spread a bit of Christmas cheer as she releases the follow up to her 2003 seasonal offering Ashanti's Christmas. While I'm still searching for the person who is authorizing studio access for Ja Rule's former counterpart, I must say that she does a decent job this time around. But it's practically impossible to fail when it comes to Christmas music. The strongest moment of the five-track effort comes in the form of the smooth jam "Christmas Love." This record is built specifically for two-stepping with your significant other and offers a musical to-do list for holiday lovers. Taking her holiday celebration to the next level, Ashanti will also be starring in an extra special Lifetime movie entitled Christmas In the City.
