Ariana Grande & Big Sean Take It 'There'

Ariana Grande has been getting comparisons to diva Mariah Carey ever since she burst on the scene. Her latest video for her Big Sean-featuring single "Right There" isn't going to do much to ease up those comparisons, either. The song itself takes a page from 1997 Mariah's playbook, matching Ariana's sweet yet powerful vocals with a flip of a classic sample (in this case, it's Jeff Lorber's "Rain Dance," known to most as the base for Lil' Kim's '90s smash "Crush On You"). It's a genius move, as the song itself is a welcome Pop&B confection. For the track's video, Ariana channels star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet at an elaborate costume ball (a concept strikingly similar to Mariah's "We Belong Together" clip). Enlisting actor Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Ah-nuld) as her Romeo, the budding diva is the belle of the ball as she holds court among her subjects. Unlike the Shakespearean tragedy, however, Ariana gets her man in the end as the two swim into each others arms. Check out Ariana's happily ever after and see if she deserves the "Baby Mariah" title.
