MNEK has been lighting up our ears with his unique take on some of our favorite songs with his remakes and refixes and his collaborations with artists like Rudimental, Duke Dumont and DEVolution. This time around MNEK flies solo as he mashes up Aaliyah's "At Your Best (You Are Love)" and George Michael's "Fastlove" on a refix that goes down like fresh water in the Sahara. The production reminds me of a Jazzie B/Soul II Soul piece with its percussion and earthy sound. This mix is a credit to MNEK's artistry as he takes two songs with different flavors and makes them sound brand new. I could have stood to hear a little bit more of The Isley Brothers' flair, but we here at SBHQ can never get enough of this fantastic artist and whatever he chooses to do.
