He's mixed and mingled with various genres prior, but LA-based artist Sunni Colón seems to nestle in quite well with the high-octane sounds he's pulled out for his latest single. Packed to the brim with mid-'80's mechanical funk panache, "Thrill" is a hard-hitting jam, that should shake those pesky Frank Ocean comparisons off a just bit for the rising R&B talent as well as take him into a new and, well, thrilling direction. No word yet on where "Thrill" fits in, whether it be a new album or EP (Colón released his EP The Els Flowers just this year), but I'm just glad that I can take this joint for a spin as well as scoop up a free download while the gettin' is still good.
