Step Into 'Springtime' With L.A.M.P.

As both the frontman of soulful house outfit The Rurals and as a standalone producer, Bristol's Andy Compton has had a hand in over 20 album releases to date, but his latest, as half of newly formed duo L.A.M.P., sounds like it could be one of his finest. Teaming up with vocalist and Peng labelmate Ladybird (aka Julie Monnin), the duo are set to release their debut album, Shades of Green, on June 25th. The pair are no strangers to collaborating, with Andy having produced Ladybird's 2012 self-titled debut, so a joint album seems like a natural progression. The project's lead single "Springtime" is a jazzy slice of downtempo soul that is guaranteed to wash away those mid-week anytime blues as Ladybird's sultry vocals soothe the soul, while Compton's production ensures that heads keep on nodding even as you drift away on the track's seductive groove. The track is available as a limited-time free download via the player below, so grab it while you can. Now excuse me while I put this on repeat.
