Carolyn Malachi Takes Us Through 'Fall Winter Spring Summer'

Soul singer Carolyn Malachi offers a song to daydream to with "Fall Winter Spring Summer." The DC native's new single is from GOLD, the follow-up to her 2011 GRAMMY nominated EP Lions, Fires & Squares. You can tell Carolyn sings, raps and does spoken word poetry because her lyrics are often witty: "To Fall into your Winter / Means to Spring / Where my dreams / Dare not Summer." Carolyn is clearly rising above a dark, limiting relationship in this song, and her light comes out and shines in her velvety voice. This smooth track, produced by Apple Juice Kid and Hilo with drums by James McKinney, offers a great jazz twist with sweet soul and hip-hop undertones. The song offers something for everybody, and I, for one, am excited for GOLD's upcoming release.
