'Dwell' With Moses Sumney 'In The Dark'

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Moses Sumney has something refreshingly passionate and peaceful to share this week. "Dwell In The Dark," a gem released quietly on his SoundCloud page, finds Moses strumming his guitar and intensely singing an acoustic number that is lyrically drenched in heartbreak. "Why do you come here? Why do you tear me apart?" he asks his lover as the song begins. Sumney does an incredible job drawing inspiration from the vocal vulnerability of Lianne La Havas, the soulful hopefulness of India.Arie and the folk-rock elements of Jeff Buckley and combining them with his own unique characteristics to create a distinctive sound. Lucky for us all, "Dwell In The Dark" is only a brief taste of what's to come from Sumney. He is currently preparing to serve as the opening act for rapidly-rising girl group troupe KING, as they take on their first residency. KING and Sumney will be performing every Monday in June at Los Angeles' Bootleg Bar starting on June 3rd.
