This week seems to be tailor made for lovers of blue-eyed soul. First, Justin Timberlake released his highly anticipated (but in my opinion, just so-so) third album The 20/20 Experience. Now, Robin Thicke (and his impeccable sense of timing) returns with new sounds and visuals for our ears and eyes. "Blurred Lines" finds the crooner working in his wheelhouse along with frequent collaborator Pharrell and self-proclaimed kang T.I.. Unlike other wack-sauce first singles that shall go unnamed, Thicke brings the heat here with a track that has a throwback feel yet is still fun without trying so hard. And the trio don't just have fun on the song. In the music video, the fellas keep it simple with just them, three vixens and a few props and wardrobe changes. They also keep it rather hilarious as Pharrell and T.I. dance around and even impersonate Fred Sanford while a few tastefully off-color gags are weaved throughout. "Blurred Lines" will be available for download March 26th, but there's no other word so far on when we can expect Robin's sixth album to drop or what we can expect from it. Let the waiting game begin.
