Melanie Fiona Finds Herself On The 'Wrong Side Of A Love Song'

How many videos tug at your heartstrings and make you feel something? Melanie Fiona premiered the visual for "Wrong Side of a Love Song" on Jay-Z's Life+Times website and, after watching it, I was left feeling some kind of way. The emotions she expressed were just all too real. Larenz Tate (yes, THAT Larenz Tate) directed the video, bringing the Canadian singer's words to life and absolutely did the song justice, in part by using a split screen to illustrate the joyous and the painful sides of a relationship. Should Melanie have any lingering blues from not winning a GRAMMY last night, I highly recommended she take another look at her own video and be reminded of the pillow fights and passionate moments she shared with her love interest, Omari Hardwick. That should make it all better, at least for now. Though reactions to the album seem quite mixed, this song is just one of the many reasons why I enjoyed last year's The MF Life. As for her next album, she told VIBE "I think the approach this time is a very organic place. "I feel like I want to write all my songs on piano and guitar, and build it into whatever it's gonna be. I'm much more in a singer-songwriter place right now."
