Kev Choice's 'Dear Love' Is A Welcomed Letter

Now that a few days have passed since Valentine's Day, those who had their heads in the clouds are finally coming back down to earth. Thankfully, the "my man/woman/boo loves me" tweets and Facebook posts have calmed down as well. But Bay area rapper Kev Choice reminds us that the love we feel on Valentine's Day should last all year with his new song "Dear Love" featuring 1-O.A.K. of the Honor Roll Crew. The art of the rap/sung collaboration, popularized in the '90s hip-hop soul heyday, has deteriorated in recent years. (Quick fact: Kanye West has won the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the GRAMMYs four out of the past five years.) Kev Choice brings back the love to the popular category with a bouncy jam that explains his thoughts on the definition of love and what being in love means. It's honest and shows a welcomed sense of vulnerability. I'm very much looking forward to hearing more joint projects from these two artists.
