Jennifer Hudson Makes 'Beautiful' Music With The Sandy Hook Elementary Choir At Super Bowl

The performances at Super Bowl XLVII ranged from the patriotic (Alicia Keys) to the poppin' (Beyoncé) but there was one in particular that pulled at the heartstrings. With the memory of the pre-Christmas Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre still fresh on everyone's minds, it was poignant and powerful to see a group of students from the school on the field singing "America the Beautiful." Their young voices sounded angelic as they set the stage for Jennifer Hudson to join them. Once she started singing with the Sandy Hook Elementary Chorus, JHud took us to church. She certainly had me ready to pass around a collection plate. Now, Jennifer's holy ghost baptized vocals didn't exactly blend with the sweetness of the children's voices in the choir, but it didn't even matter. Despite the ugly act that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012, this precious moment was a reminder that America is indeed still a beautiful place.
