Will Miguel's Stripped Down Set For NPR Music 'Thrill' 'You'?

Still promoting Kaleidoscope Dream, Miguel stopped by the NPR Music office to record a set for their Tiny Desk Concert series. We're used to seeing him perform with a full band and extravagant light show, but for this session he was only supported by guitarist Dru DeCaro and occasional laughter from the audience. While there, Miguel performed "Do You..." followed by one of his favorites from the album, "The Thrill," and you know he couldn't leave without running through "Adorn," which he called a "life-changing song" for him. We're not surprised, after all, it made the Hot 16 list of SoulBounce's Best Songs of 2012 and is nominated for the Song of the Year GRAMMY. Given the ease with which he performed, he could've been doing this in his sleep. Miguel can be flashy, but this performance shows he can pull it back just as well. Coming in around 13 minutes, the video is a good watch for its ad-libbed moments, light commentary, unrehearsed choreography and, of course, the raw talent that belongs to the 27-year-old Los Angeles native.
