Nas Toasts Amy Winehouse's Memory With 'Cherry Wine'

Though more than a year has passed, the loss of Amy Winehouse is still felt in the recording industry. Luckily, Amy left a few lost gems and collaborations to remember her by. One such collaboration is Nas' "Cherry Wine," the Salaam Remi-produced single and video from his recent effort Life Is Good. The song, which is miles better than most of his tracks aimed at the fairer sex, is named for Amy's cherished guitar and is the perfect combo of Nas' smooth lyrical delivery and Amy's jazzy voice. The video evokes Ms. Winehouse in more ways than one. While the projection of the late singer on a wall during the chorus is the most obvious, the video's style evokes the vintage-yet-new spirit of Amy quite well. Nas plays bartender at a swank lounge where a mysterious and provocative woman is winding all the male patron's around her finger. Even Nas is smitten, stealing glances of her throughout the night. Finally, as the night ends and the two are all alone in the bar, he makes his move. It's a different look for Mr. Jones, but it comes of as mellow as, well, fine wine. Pour yourself a nice glass of red and check out the clip below.
