Some might have thought that when Izzi Dunn was ruminating about suspended maracas and rotund posteriors, she was just baiting for attention. Well, she got ours, hence why she was pegged as a Bounce-Worthy artist a few years ago. Still, there was more to it than that. One listen to her spirited 2010 effort, Cries & Smiles, and it was evident that Dunn could grab attention in all sorts of ways, and she exceeded beyond our expectations with her collection of spunky funk and chill-back ballads. So it comes as no surprise that she's taken the subtle approach in introducing her upcoming EP,Visions, as the cellist does know how to thump on those ol' heart strings. Thump she does as she gives a pensive reading of a misbegotten Mr Hudson and The Library single, "Picture Of You," with results that are Snuggle Bear soft, warm and inviting. While its accompanying visual hurries summer out the door, observing with Dunn and soaking in what she sees is just the relaxing and reflective addition that I needed to ease into the week.
