We all know that Frank Ocean is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer, but rapper? Frankie O. defies our expectations with his latest leak, "Blue Whale." Over a very laid back, guitar-laced beat, he spits thoughtful 16s about everything from his life post-Katrina, street pharmacy and his ponderings about getting grown. Like his singing, it's all delivered in Frank's trademark stream-of-consciousness style, wringing deep thought from seemingly random observations. But the real question here is: Can Frank really rap? Well, he certainly has a flow and a charm that's endearing. Still, I don't feel like Frank is convincing as rapper on this particular track. Don't get me wrong, "Blue Whale" definitely has its moments. I just don't feel like it's something I'll be pressing the replay button on anytime soon. That's just my opinion, though. What say you?
