Sort of a slight confession here, but every time Womack & Womack's "Teardrops" comes on, whatever is in my neon pink polished fingers gets dropped to the floor, and then I start embarrassing people. Singing loudly, dancing around, wrapped up in euphoria I am. It's just one of my all-time favorite songs that instantly puts me in a good mood whenever I hear it, and I just can't help myself, ya know? So I was pleased as Crystal Light fruit punch that Joss Stone is covering the track on her upcoming The Soul Sessions Volume 2, because well, I always need another excuse to sing-along to this song. We already know that she did justice with the Chi-Lites' "(For God Sake's) Give Power To The People," but she proves once again she's a force in the cover's zone as she nails "Teardrops" making it her truly her own. Earlier this month she performed the track live at London's Under The Bridge spot and gave quite a funky rendition of it that is just as mood lifting as the original, as well as it being worth a watch to see Ms. Stone in her element. For more live treats, tune into Livestream tonight for a special broadcast of Joss in concert at her sold-out show at NYC's Highline Ballroom where she'll be previewing new songs and singing her oldies and goodies.
