I haven't exactly been sleeping on former Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money member Dawn Richard, but I honestly wasn't exactly checking for her either. That is until I saw her in concert at the beginning of May opening for PJ Morton and became a believer. Dawn Richard's live show is incredible. I was literally left with my mouth hanging open and catching flies after she put it down on stage with pitch perfect vocals, some serious choreography and personality by the pound. I was impressed to say the least and have since made it a point to get caught up on all things Dawn, namely her Armor On EP released in March on her own independent label. One of the tracks from said EP has a shiny new video out now where Dawn gets her futuristic twerk on. In "Automatic" Dawn and her mighty fine dancers are rocking metallic body paint, wearing teeny weeny outfits, shaking their cakes and putting in serious work on this club jam. These visuals for "Automatic" follow her video for "Bombs," which also featured some exciting choreo. I have to say, it's good to see Dawn shaking the shackles of a group setting and doing her solo thing -- and doing it well.
