Music Monday just got a lot more dope with Dwele's surprise release of his new single, "What Profit," from his forthcoming as-yet-untitled sixth album. Taking its title and theme loosely from the Bible verse Mark 8:36 (For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? -- KJV), Dwele instead makes it into a relationship-centered song asking the question, "What profit a man, to gain the whole world and lose his girl?" and goes on to say everything he'd do to keep his lady. Well played, Mr. Gardner. That clever flip aside, this song has everything -- meaningful lyrical content, a catchy hook and a tight mid-tempo groove that you can two-step to. I thoroughly enjoy this song, and if you're a Dwele fan I suspect you will, too. Be sure to pick this up on iTunes and keep your ear to the ground for more newness from Dwele soon.
