Juliette Is Here To 'Take Over'

After being oh-so-1920's flapper with her "Love Me and My Hair" visual, UK's sultry cool Juliette is back with a new freeEP, The Take Over Volume 1, and by way of the title, she definitely means it. If you dig on the scene of samples, then this eight-track EP is especially for you as Juliette pays homage to hip-hop's yesteryears by rolling her harmonious voice over such recognizable tracks from the likes of Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Tom Scott, Crooklyn Dodgers, Souls of Mischief and Billy Cobham, all while putting her unique spin on things. From taking a swift listen to the EP, the sublime "'93 Til Infinity" re-imagining of "You Can Find Me" and the sweet Bob James sample on "Baby I'm A Rider" win all the awards for being some real silky smooth soul creations this side of Miss Badu. Yet, the entire EP is a must-cop. The instructions are simple. Just download at no charge and flow into the groove of this promising act -- and also be sure to keep Juliette in thought as her forthcoming debut album, Keys of Love, is on the come up this June.
