With Memorial Day signaling the unofficial start of those hazy summer days, there will undoubtedly be a bunch of folk making their way to a beach, me included. Aside from cookouts, feeling sand between my toes is one of the things I look forward to the most about summer. And what visit to the beach is complete without the perfect soundtrack? DJ Kemit is offering up a perfect addition to summer soundtracks with his "Nu Bounce" reworking of Leon Ware's "On the Beach." Although this slipped past us when it was released this past spring, boy are we happy we found our way to it eventually. Kemit keeps it in the vein of the soulful house origins of the original, making it a sure shot addition to any cookout or beach party playlist. And with the legendary Motown singer's swag on a gazillion on the cover shot, it's pretty hard to walk away not feeling like a winner with this one, no matter where you chose to play it.
