Attention Alice Smith fans: she has new music coming soon! This is not a threat, but a promise from Alice herself, who I recently saw in concert at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC. Making good on her promise, she even blessed the audience with a few cuts from her upcoming five-song EP, which she plans to release in July. To get us all ready for that glorious occasion, Alice recently posted a snazzy little teaser entitled "Look 66: The Ross" onto her YouTube page to preview one of her new songs. Her robust vocal on "Cabaret" is noteworthy on its own, but it's Alice getting her glam on that is the attention grabber here. The leggy beauty primes and primps herself in a dressing room as she channels her inner Diana Ross and tries on various looks that the Motown diva herself would likely have rocked. The combination of the vocals with these visuals is a stunning albeit it short one. Nevertheless, this minute of music from Alice is just enough to tide us over until the new project comes.
