Avery Sunshine Treats Londoners To A Soulful Medley

Even though she only has one album under her belt, Avery Sunshine feels like an artist who has been a firm favorite for years. Her vocals are effortlessly powerful, and she has a knack for reinterpreting the songs of others, as anyone who has seen her live can testify. I have been seriously slacking when it comes to catching her here on UK shores, even though she has blessed us with a number of appearances, but thanks to the powers of YouTube I can catch up on what I have been missing out on. Filmed at her recent show at London's Union Chapel, the video below sees Avery taking on not one, but three classic artists in her own inimitable style. She handles Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" and Luther Vandross' "Never Too Much" with ease, but it's her take on Aretha Franklin's "Jump To It" at the start of the medley that has me craving some new material from her ASAP!
