You Gotta Check Out This Remix Of The Soul Rebels '504'

It could be mere coincidence that we featured both Gotta and The Soul Rebels in the last few weeks, or it could have been SoulBounce's inherent genius fate. Whatever the reason both those introductions led perfectly to today's post as Gotta has entered a competition, run by The Soul Rebels and their label, to produce either an "urban" or "dance" remix of their track "504." The winner of the competition receives $1000, a feature on TSR's official site, and media promotion, so it's a good look for up-and-coming producers and remixers. Gotta went the dance route, leaving the original's vocals and horns in place -- lets face it they were pretty much perfect first time round -- but adding a hefty beat over the top that definitely adds to the track's club-worthiness. The competition ends this Friday and Gotta needs to finish in the top 20 to progress to the next round. He currently stands at #9 but a few more votes always help.
