If SoulBounce were a record label, it'd be Plug Research. It only makes sense since so many artists who we love and write about on these digital pages are being signed to PR. From Bilal, to Quadron, to Robin Hannibal, to Szjerdene, whoever is signing acts over there has as great a taste in music as we do. That winning streak continues with the newest additions to the Plug Research family, Hawthorne Headhunters. Now primarily a duo with Black Spade and Coultrain taking the group's reigns, they're continuing to blend their brand of hip hop, soul, funk, and jazz on the EP, Myriad of Now. This release is a teaser for their full-length album expected to drop in early 2012. It's so good to hear anything with Coultrain's voice on it, so we'll wait as long as necessary for that record, but this eclectic collection will tide us over rather nicely. The full EP is streaming via SoundCloud and for purchase on iTunes, and the track "If You Were My Baby (Reprise)" is available as a freebie.
