It's A 'Shame' We Don't Hear From Ra-Re Valverde More Often

Three years after releasing her debut album, A Beautiful Mess, and being tipped as Bounce-Worthy on these very pages, we are finally getting some new music from Ra-Re Valverde. Now before folks get a little crazy, I have to preface this write-up by saying that, sadly, there is no news of a new album on the horizon. However, the one-time supporting vocalist for the likes of Jill Scott, Rahsaan Patterson, and Lalah Hathaway has taken to her SoundCloud page and posted 19 tracks, which she describes as "demos, tracks and cutting room scraps." For fans of Ms. Valverde I'm sure any news is good news, and what's even better is that some of the tracks are certainly album material. Take a listen "Shame On Me" and "Why (Because)" below, two songs we hope will make their way on to her long-awaited sophomore album, then check out the rest of the songs here.
