After waiting what seemed like an eternity for Van Hunt's return to music, it looks like the enigmatic artist's latest album will not only see the light of day but will also see him take his show on the road. As he gears up for the release of his new album, What Were You Hoping For?, due out September 27th, Hunt is heading out on tour to support his latest project. The tour kicks off September 19th in New York City, before wrapping up in San Francisco on October 13th.

Hunt's return to the scene definitely is a triumphant one. It wasn't so long ago that he found himself label-less and out of the masters to his third studio album, Popular, after Blue Note Records refused to release the album or sell him back the rights to the music. He's now taking his career into his own hands, releasing the new album as part of a joint venture between his own label, godless-hotspot, and indie firm Thirty Tigers. So far, the first two songs to leak from this batch of new material, "June" and "The Savage, Sincere L of P," have gotten glowing reviews and drummed up excitement among loyal fans.
