As I've mentioned before, I'm not much of a hip-hop head, but every once in a while I'll come across a track that demands my attention. I came across one such track today, in the shape of "Watch Me Dance," the new single from British rapper Roots Manuva. While most British MCs are spitting bars over euro-dance beats, Roots and a handful of others (Ty, Rodney P) are maintaining integrity and producing quality hip hop that even a non-follower such as myself can appreciate. "Watch Me Dance" has a very British vibe, with reggae-ish vocals over a simple, yet hard-hitting funk beat. This is the first single from Roots' upcoming album 4everevolution, which drops later this year and is available for the price of an email address at the Big Dada Records site.
