Don't Let Ed Sheeran Be A 'Stranger'

There has been quite a buzz in the UK surrounding Ed Sheeran over the last few years. He has released a number singles and EPs independently, but has now struck the big time and inked a deal with Atlantic Records to release his debut full-length album later this year. At heart, Ed is a singer/songwriter who incorporates soul, folk, acoustic pop, and just about whatever else takes his fancy, but more recently he has dabbled in grime music on his most recent release, No.5 Collaborations Project. In build up to the release of his album, Ed is releasing a three-song EP for free, which features fan favorite "You Need Me," a new track called "UNI" and a fantastic cover of Jamie Woon's "Wayfaring Stranger" (which was itself a cover of a folk standard). Check out a video of him performing "Wayfaring Stranger" in the studio below, then head on over to his official site to grab your download in exchange for an email address. I've got to say that, although I really love Woon's polished version, Ed's rawness adds a new dimension to the song making it impossible for me to pick a favorite. [H/T: PBB]
