Alex Lattimore & Avery Sunshine Take On Marvin & Tammi

I have a real soft spot in my heart for the duets of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, as I’m sure most of you reading this do. There was an unbelievable chemistry between the two that was tragically cut short when Tammi passed age 25, but, as they say, the music lives on. Although nobody can come close to the originals when covering their songs, there have been some admirable attempts–namely D’Angelo and Erykah Badu‘s “Your Precious Love”–and I’m going to add this duet between Alex Lattimore and Avery Sunshine to that list. “If This World Were Mine” is possibly my favorite Marvin and Tammi duet and Alex and Avery do a stellar job here, even if I prefer the original arrangement.
