M.I.A.'s 'Internet Connection' Gets Shook Up

Offering a new spin on one of my favorite beats to drop this year,
Netherlands-based producer Shook has released a new mix of M.I.A.'s "Internet Connection." The remixer traded the insane, punchy minimalism of the original for a more
synth-driven electronic approach. "Internet Connection" voices
frustrations we can all relate to, as the song was born after a
three-hour phone call with Verizon tech support. With the help of actual Filipino Verizon workers, she sings: "I'm down
like my internet connection/Crashed again last night/I was on there
surfin' outta my mind." Yes, M.I.A., I feel your pain. The remix serves as a teaser of sorts for Shook's The Glow EP, for which only 200 vinyl copies have currently been pressed. With all tracks written and produced by Shook, a full release is scheduled for early 2011. In the meantime, connect to this remix below.
