Singer/songwriter Kriss Mincey released her debut, Scratch n' Riff: The VintageBrand Mixtape, today for free via her Bandcamp page. She calls this project a
merging of jazz and hip-hop and a snapshot of what's to come on her upcoming EP, VintageBrand, slated to drop on Valentine's Day 2011. The Baltimore native and DC resident has
worked with some of the most highly acclaimed artists in the DMV region,
including E the Poet Emcee, Johnny
Graham and Salem Brown, all while being a Public Relations and
English double major in her junior year at the University of Maryland. My instincts are telling me though that Miss Mincey may be pretty busy in the coming year, fielding offers for performances and the like because this free download can be easily described in one word: dopeness.
