Ron Isley & Lauryn Hill Get 'Close'

Now that Ron Isley is steady on the promotional train for his new album Mr. I, there is yet another track for us to get the chance to judge. As over I am with Lauryn Hill's stage antics, there is just no denying her talent, especially when it comes to her melismatic vocal theatrics. "Close To You," a remake of "(They Long To Be) Close To You" one of my all-time songs by The Carpenters, is simply divine. Both of these singers have well-matched voices and are in complete control of their vocal abilities, which only adds to the lushness of this standard. After you revisit what beautiful music can be, make sure you give it up one time to Burt Bacharach.
