J Dilla's Legacy Lives On With The 'So Far To Go' Art Contest

J Dilla's mom, Maureen Yancey, better known to fans of her son as Ma Dukes, is
keeping the late producer's memory alive and well in the name of art and music. The J Dilla Foundation, the nonprofit founded by Ma Dukes after Dilla's untimely 2006 demise, has announced its "So Far To Go" International J Dilla Tribute Art Contest, designed to raise money for children's music programs and the arts. The contest, which kicked off September 20th, invites fans from around the world to submit their artistic works inspired by Dilla's musical legacy by uploading them to Art4Dilla.com. Beginning on September 30th, online voters will have the chance to select their favorite work. The winning piece will appear as a poster and limited edition Giclee print series designed by the artist and Ma Dukes. Proceeds of subsequent sales will
help the J Dilla Foundation, which aims to enhance art and music education programs in urban
communities. For more information and contest details, check out Art4Dilla.com.
