BET To Examine Women In Hip-Hop In 'My Mic Sounds Nice' Doc

Typically I would be the last person to tell folks to tune into BET given their track record of questionable programming, but the channel is making a concerted effort to do better and tonight they premiere My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth About Women And Hip Hop, which looks like it will be worth checking out. The first original music documentary from BET, it will examine the role of women in hip hop and the rise and fall--and possible return to prominence--of females in the industry. Rapstresses such as MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, Rah Digga, Yo Yo and more sat down in front of the camera to have their say on this topic that we here at SoulBounce hold near and dear to our hearts. If time permits, you may even find me live-tweeting about this program from the @SoulBounce Twitter account this evening. My Mic Sounds Nice premieres tonight at 10 pm EST on BET.
