Number one hit records be damned, but I really haven't been feeling Usher and his output lately. The masses have eaten "OMG" up with the biggest spoon in town, but I have a more discriminating palate. There is one song, though, that stood out and stuck with me from Raymond v. Raymond that didn't make me want to gag whenever I heard it and now there's a video to accompany it. The visuals for "There Go My Baby" follow the playbook from the light-skinned, long-haired love interest to Usher flashing his abs of steel and a sensuous bedroom scene complete with black satin sheets. In spite of the cliches, this is the Usher that I like and used to love. And when he jumps and does a one-armed pull-up onto the overhanging roof where his "baby" is perched? Oh my. Usher's clearly been working out and he's working it out in this video.
