In light of the horrendous, unimaginably tragic deaths of her mother, brother, and nephew, it would be completely understandable if Jennifer Hudson took an indefinite hiatus from everything. So, the fact that she will be appearing in the holiday ad campaign for Gap, work for which she completed some time ago, is kind of tremendous. Especially considering that they graciously gave her the chance to opt out. It may just be a photograph in a larger ad blitz, but it also functions as a subtle indicator of her toughness of spirit. Many may look at the image as it is plastered on billboards and in magazines for the next month and only see the pain of unspeakable loss, project the last few months onto her beautiful smile, but amid all of that is a profound courageousness. We cannot imagine what it took for her to do something seemingly as simple as saying yes to this, but we can know that it is nothing short of amazingly resilient. [E!/Yahoo]
