World In Financial Ruin But Russell Simmons Advises You To Buy A House

russell- simmons.jpgWondering how you'll buy a home in today's current financial climate when you can barely afford gasoline? Well never fear. Russell Simmons, along with Ludacris, Young Joc, Gorilla Zoe, and other artists whose music never find their way onto your radio descended upon Clark Atlanta University to tell people how to "Get Your House Right" as part of this year's Hip Hop Summit this weekend. According to Simmons, today's market offers people the perfect opportunity to buy a home since, as the housing market (hopefully) improves, your home's appreciation will, too. Right? I'm no Suze Orman, but I find something a tad bit fishy when someone in top 1% tax bracket wants to offer folks advice on making life-altering credit decisions, especially when entire nations are financially collapsing. Nice try Russell and company, but if going to see Maxwell in concert amounts to our monthly car note, we're going to have to pass on buying a house.
