#17: Al Green 'Love And Happiness'

Al Green - Love & Happiness.jpgLove is...love is an indescribable feeling right? Maybe for many of us, but somehow Al Green was able to sing about its power just right. Not only was he able to describe make-up love so well ("Someone's on the phone
three o'clock in the morning/ Talkin' about how she can make it right"), but he able to describe the nurturing type of love that no one can put asunder so well ("You be good to me/ I'll be good to you/ We'll be together...Walk away with victory"). How did Al do it then, and how was he able to tear the house down doing what only he can at this year's BET Awards? Is it magic? Possibly. Was it divined by God? Most definitely. Is the fact that I have to watch myself every time Al implores me to "moan for love" at the end of this song because of the unabashed sexuality that he infused into this track a good thing? Absolutely. And likely it was good for your parents and has served you well at some point in your life. Is there much else I can say about this song without bursting into song myself. No. And it is for that reason that I am going to let the music speak for itself.
