'Delicious Gutter' Has Us Reminiscing About The Good Old Days

Delicious Gutter is an EP that features two classic Young MC and Masta Ace vocal tracks set to Baltimore gutter beats. I have to admit that I had never heard of Baltimore gutter music as a genre or even subgenre of house music until the video for the remix of Young MC's "Know How Theme" came to my attention. Apparently, there is a segment of the population that adores Young MC and knows more of his catalogue of songs then just "Bust A Move." Notably, Aaron La Crate and Debonair Samir, two of Gutter music's top DJs, still hold a flame for Young MC. To quote La Crate,

"When I was a kid growing up in Baltimore I loved Young MC. I would make mixtapes where one side would be up-tempo club jams and the other side would be golden era hip-hop. So now for me and Samir to merge them into one thing is a dream come true."

Dream come true, huh? I'm not so sure about that one, bruh. It took all of my strength to listen to the entire track. Let's just say Gutter music is not my bag. But the video for this track which features a clip of a sprite Young MC on The Arsenio Hall Show has me wishing for 1988 and beat boxing on lunch tables. More info about this project can be found via Delicious Vinyl's website and MySpace page.
