Smokey and Black of Playa recently appeared on WGZB to pay respects to their band member Stephen "Static" Garrett. The two of them were still, understandably, in a state of disbelief at the loss of their brother. Their interview provides a context to the magnitude of the loss, not the professional one, but the one that touches them and Static's family on a personal level. The Thomas Crown Chronicles, a Timbaland fan blog, has been doing a great job with their coverage and tributes, including a small discography of Static's credits, as well as his solo work.
