Masta Killa Voted PETA's 'Most Friendly Hip Hop Artist'


masta killa peta2.jpgContinuing our tireless Wu-Tang coverage this week comes the news that Masta Killa, original Wu-Tang member and long-time vegetarian, has been awarded PETA2's Libby Award for "Most Friendly Hip Hop Artist" of 2008. Masta Killa won the Libby (short for Liberation) Award by beating out such hip hop artists as dead prez and K-OS. PETA2, the hipper and younger version of PETA (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals), offered Masta Killa the opportunity to be in the organization's advertising campaign last year (see left). This comes as welcome surprise from PETA who frequently give Side Eyes to celebrities such as Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez who wear fur for fashion on the regular.
