Kimbra Breaks Free In 'Everybody Knows'

GRAMMY and ARIA Award-winning singer Kimbra continues to prep fans for her upcoming third album, Primal Heart. Following the release of the lead single from the project entitled "Everybody Knows," she's revealed the visual to accompany the ballsy track in which she pulls no punches in telling her former lover that she’s had enough. She collaborates once again with director Guy Franklin, who also crafted the visuals for her singles “Cameo Lover” and "Settle Down," in order to capture the song's resilient sentiment perfectly.

The visually stunning yet minimalist video takes place among rolling hills in a grassy field and showcases the New Zealand songstress struggling to break free underneath a banner of sheer material amid gusty winds. It’s all very simple and symbolic of the struggle to free oneself from any relationship that no longer serves you. Similar to the cloth the engulfs her, though she can see her way through, it takes quite a bit of effort to emerge. Once she does, however, she appears stronger and wiser. "It was one of the more emotionally and physically demanding videos I've made to date, but I'm so proud of what we achieved and very excited it's out in the world," Kimbra says of the clip. "Guy and I collaborate in a very intertwined and personal way. We both bring our experiences to the table and try to find visual metaphors that express the nuance of an emotion and touch on a nerve for both the audience, and for ourselves."
