Ledisi Will 'Let Love Rule' With A New Album This September

Since dropping "High" on us back in May, Ledisi has been rather vague about her intentions...until now that is. After teasing and playing coy for a couple months, Led is finally spilling the beans on what she's been cooking up and it's looking good.

While "High" burns up the R&B charts, Ledisi is readying her ninth studio album, officially titled Let Love Rule, for the soul music lovers out there. Not only that, but she's called on a high-profile cast of characters to help her on the album. The album's personnel includes John LegendBJ The Chicago Kid, Kirk FranklinDJ Camper and a few more well-known heavy hitters. Ledisi, along with Rex Rideout, also produced the album, which Billboard says will span many different musical styles "from ‘70s soul to 21st century R&B and multiple themes about life, love and empowerment."

Speaking on the album, Ledisi told Billboard, "This album was one of the hardest I’ve ever worked on. We were looking for songs that could stand the test of time. This wasn’t a quickie; it was about great songwriting. I’ve come back to what I love about R&B and also what I love about today’s music.”

This is all sounding like music to our ears, and we're sure it will be when Let Love Rule arrives in stores on September 22nd.
