On the unseasonably cold and rainy afternoon of Sunday, May 22nd, local SoulBouncers from the DMV and points farther away gathered together for the first SoulBounce Listening Lounge to celebrate the release of Zo!'s newest album, SkyBreak. Kaldi's Social House in Silver Spring, Maryland was the chill spot for music lovers to come through and vibe out to DJ Stylus - The Vibe Conductor on the turntables, sip on the SkyBreak and Zo!jito custom libations created by Ramon Henderson with Chairman's Reserve rums, shop from The Musichead Collection whose owner Leticia Thomas was on hand to outfit musicheads with some new gear and enjoy a lively track-by-track discussion of SkyBreak between Zo! and myself.
In attendance were songstress Sy Smith, who was in town visiting her home base from Los Angeles and whose angelic voice we heard on the first track "Lake Erie," singer Cecily, hip hop artist Priest Da Nomad, DJ Roddy Rod, dj harvey dent, DJ Cleveland Browne, DJ Nate Geezie, media personality Nikki Strong, Lil SoSo's Risikat Okedeyi and many more who packed out the venue.
Everyone in attendance received a copy of SkyBreak, which Zo! gladly signed and took photos with all those who stopped to talk to him and dap him up on an album well done. VIP guests also received exclusive gift bags filled with goodies from our sponsors Ultra Sheen Supreme who provided their entire new hair styling line, Yankee Candle in Westfield Annapolis Mall, The Body Shop in Westfield Annapolis Mall, Aveda in Westfield Annapolis Mall, Bath & Body Works in Westfield Annapolis Mall, KIND Snacks, Kimberly Shines Media and Lisa Shelton Beauty.
