BADBADNOTGOOD & Kaytranada Create Cosmic Jazz In 'Lavender'

BADBADNOTGOOD-Lavender

What happens when fellow Canadians collaborate? A new track from Toronto-bred BADBADNOTGOOD and Montreal-based producer Kaytranada, that's what. They just cooked up the song "Lavender" for the group's upcoming album, IV. With "Lavender," the four-piece jazz group and Kaytranada pick up where they left off after collaborating on "Weight Off" for Kay's 99.9%. Like their last concoction, "Lavender" features more out-of-this-world production with cosmic instrumentals and an addictive beat. Kaytranda creates new sounds with drum breaks, synth melodies and percussion to create a rounded, jazzy arrangement with an easy melody to latch onto. Serving as the third single from the group's upcoming album, it's evident we're in for a wild ride when the group releases the entire project.

BADBADNOTGOOD release their fourth studio album, hence the title IV, on July 8th. They also just wrapped the U.S. leg of their tour and will keep it going this summer to Europe. If you're around those parts you can peep their tour dates below. Kaytranda has been working on his next mixtape, 0.01%, the follow up to 99.9%.  We tend to keep an eye on his Instagram, where he's been previewing some of the new tracks with funky visuals to match. If you're in the mood for some new beats with a hint of jazz, listen to BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranda's "Lavender" right here.
