Soul music lovers and cruise aficionados can get ready for a treat next year with the announcement of The Soul Cruise hosted by SoulBounce fave and indie soul king Eric Roberson. You may already be familiar with the annual Capital Jazz SuperCruise, which has been taking jazz and soul music lovers on voyages to Caribbean locales since 1993 and has been graced with performances from the likes of Chaka Khan, Floetry, Incognito and, of course, Erro. The cruise, which usually sells out pretty quickly, just announced a new experience with The Soul Cruise, for all of the soul and R&B lovers among us, which pretty much means every SoulBouncer reading this. The cruise is scheduled to set sail February 19th-26th, 2017 and will make its way from Miami to Cuba.

By now you should already know that our very own President Barack Obama heads to Cuba in March. If you're not sure why this is a big deal, it's been 88 years since a U.S. president visited the country. Now that The Soul Cruise is heading to Cuba next year, it's just another opportunity to reestablish U.S. and Cuba relations and add some soulful sounds at the same time.

This isn't the first time that we've seen an exclusively soulful cruise in the works. Last year Maxwell had music heads ready to board The 7 Seas Cruise, but it unfortunately got canceled. With the good folks at Capital Jazz producing this cruise, however, rest assured it will be happening and be one fantastic voyage. While we wait for The Soul Cruise lineup to be announced, who do you want to see on the sea? Share your wish list with us and check back here for the talent roster when it's revealed.
