There was a lot of good TV competing for viewers' attention on Sunday night, but BET's Celebration of Gospel 2016 was where you could find many soul and R&B fans tuned in to see many of their favorites making a joyful noise with contemporary gospel greats. After Pastor Shirley Caesar and Anthony Hamilton hooked up for the first live performance of their new inspirational duet "It's Alright, It's OK" and Tamela Mann debuted her new song and next hit "One Way," the next pairing decided to go in a different direction and give us that old time religion with their selection.

Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Chaka Khan were paired up to perform the spiritual "Walk With Me Lord," and it was at turns jazzy, at others funky and the entire time spirit-filled. Backed by a choir dressed in sunshine-bright yellow robes, Chaka, herself clad in stunning black leather and layers of ruffles, sang first, and the Queen of Funk took all her loyal subjects to church with her staid delivery. After Khan's solo, Pastor McClurkin took over and continued the praise and worship. Once the famous featured soloists had their time to shine, the choir and band turned up it a notch, picked up the song's pace and praised the Lord with hand-clapping, foot-stomping and voices wailing to heaven. McClurkin, Khan, the choir and band leader Ray Chew's musicians turned "Walk With Me Lord" into one funky good time.

You may have heard "Walk With Me Lord" sung before, but you've never heard or seen it like this.
