As was previously announced, K. Michelle continues to rake in the coins from VH1. After gaining infamy fame on both editions of the channel's ever-popular Love & Hip Hop franchise and securing her own solo reality series, the R&B star will next take on the television musical for the network with her Rebellious Soul: The Musical.
Landing famed (and sexy) actor/sometimes singer Idris Elba as director, the musical is set to bring even more drama to the songs from her debut album, Rebellious Soul. And now we get our first taste of the project with the official trailer. From the fleeting glances we get of K. Michelle and the featured actors, this one is going to be less Broadway and more Trapped in the Closet, as most of the action seems to take place on a sound stage with little else than a screen being used as the set. But what it lacks in set, it looks to make up for in dramatic props, with stripper poles, beds, liquor and guns all coming into play at one point or another. In other words, we might have found our next ratchet guilty pleasure. Take a peek at the trailer and set your DVRs to record on August 19th at 10pm/9C.
