Algebra Unfolds Her 'Paper Heart'

Algebra Blessett keeps playing with our emotions. The Atlanta-bred songstress is getting us more than ready for her upcoming sophomore release by dropping a few musical gems from the record. About a week ago, she gave us her love-laced track “Right Next to You” and today the Atlanta-bred songstress delivers sensitive single “Paper Heart.” Algebra sings about a significant other who basically sucks at love. “I became your paper heart, to get scribbled on, ripped and torn from your love,” she sings over a flipped sample of Billie Holiday's "Good Morning Heartache." The side effects of a bad relationship, Algebra pours her own heart out on this track, noting that she’s fragile. Her voice, on the other hand, isn’t as it reigns supreme on top of the soulful beat. Reminiscent of Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor,” this song will speak to you and have you in your feelings. We’ll just sit here and guard our hearts as we wait for Recovery's January 28th release, which you can also pre-order via iTunes.
